Excellent fantasy novel combining medieval Russian history and folktale. Likeable and brave heroine Vasya who makes her own fate despite all the obstacles put in her way. Many interesting secondary characters and great evocation of the icy cold of winter. I’m really looking forward to reading more in this series.
