Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder
3.0
I got this book 5 years ago as a reward for my good grades and my behaviour in school and I finally got around to it.
Let me be honest - this book was such a drag for me. At times I had to force myself to keep reading since I'm not a fan of abandoning a book when I'm halfway through it.
There was way too much information being thrown at the reader throughout the whole duration of the book. As well as that I found the 14/15 year old girl - Sophie - extremely annoying. It seemed to me like she was a broken record, always saying "I understand." or demanding her teacher to "Explain!". I rarely ever noticed her saying "please" or "thank you". Though I do understand why others think the book is fantastic. For me, it's just a matter of not being interested in the subject that the book is focusing on.
I am happy to have this book out of my way. Hopefully the next one will be a more enjoyable one.
