Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

3.0

I'm really late to the Shatter Me train, a coworker brought this book into work so I read the first one and I'm going to be picking up the second.

Potential Spoilers

Mafi is a really talented writer, it was clear from the sentences that she strung together - HOWEVER this book was written for somebody with a short attention span. While I think Mafi is a beautiful writer, I think the storyline could've used more depth. The beginning was slow and then then it took off like a rocket, from the plot to the romance to everything else.

I'm not a big fan of insta love, despite her previously knowing Adam, I felt like their brief history together wasn't enough to warrant such strong emotions from both of them. idk why but I don't trust him, I hope I'm wrong but we'll see. I feel like Warner isn't also this super big bad that he's cracked up to be, but like I said- we'll see

I wanted Juliette to have a little more agency, and I wanted her to embrace her strength more, I'm excited to see that happen in these coming books. She's stronger than me though, the second a man looked at me funny I'd be grabbing his arm lol bye !!
