Loved this one! I’ve been looking forward to reading this for a while and considering it’s the authors debut,it didn’t disappoint.

The book made me feel like living in Morocco, I could almost smell and see and taste everything the author wrote about. It had an interesting plot and it made me want to read more, even thought it didn’t end up in much of a cliffhanger.

I found Amani(the protagonist) to be interesting and I found myself rooting for her at the end of the book. Sure, she made some stupid choices but in the end,I liked her a lot. Even though I couldn’t get into her head, she made the book enjoyable.

Now onto the “villain”. The princess got her redemption arc near the end of the book and while it was interesting, i couldn’t help being a little disappointed. The princess was this beautiful, cruel, powerful and smart person and suddenly this is all because she was alone?

In conclusion,i really enjoyed this one, can’t wait for the sequel and I really hope to read more of Somaiya Dauds works in the future!
