Holiday with You
by Grahame Claire, Claudia Burgoa
Audrey has one major task to cross off on her to-do list before the holidays start, and that's to ensure the owner of the Winter Valley Bed & Breakfast sells to Audrey's difficult boss. The owner, Ms Grant has been avoiding Audrey's attempts to contact her. Audrey finds herself on an unplanned dash Colorado from So-Cal to facilitate the deal. Unfortunately, Audrey has a car accident, plowing into a local contractor's car. Fortunately for Audrey, Colin and his brother Morgan (the local panelbeater) manage to tow her car to Winter Valley. Audrey sets about her task with vigour, coming up against roadblock after roadblock in chasing down the elusive Ms Grant. She does manage to form a ... friendship with Colin who hasn't had a close lady friend since his divorce. Cue the violins.
Ingredients:
A likeable couple - check
A small town setting - check
It's the holidays - check
A cute kid - check
Comfortable "feels like home" loving - check
Cookies - check
If these are your jam then this one is a winner. With any romance there's always a hurdle to overcome - this one is not a huge one in my opinion which impacted my investment in the story a tad. Maybe it's just me - I'm a drama seeker in my pages but I think romance readers are going to be loving this book this Christmas.
Thank you to Social Butterfly PR for sending me an advanced copy of this lovely book. Side note: the cover is divine!
