A mystery where I didn’t guess the correct murderer and the ending is a SHOCK.
MY FAVORITE BOOKS ARE ALWAYS WHEN THE AUTHOR KILLS THE MAIN CHARACTER. WELL DONE SIR. That death was faster than I would have liked it, like the author should talked from Grace’s perspective a little more, but anytime that happens it’s 5/5.
Sidney pitches a 10 episode true crime show to her network and they love it. It’s about Grace Sebold who was convicted of killing her boyfriend on a trip to St. Lucia. Sidney thinks that the crime wasn’t committed by Grace so she does real time research and produces episodes once a week about her findings. With new evidence and the backing of the public, Grace is acquitted for her crimes. And Sidney now is looking at other suspects… Graces best friend Ellie. However, during her discovery and bad timing, Sidney is killed by the real killer: Marshal, Grace’s brother — by swinging his chess set into her head. Grace helps her brother cover up the crime and Ellie gets arrested for the murder. The book ends with a cliff hanger of a retired detective looking to acquit Ellie.
