This story is a good mix of fantasy and urban fantasy. Mythology also played a part in the story, which tells each person has a twin flame, another soul which each Lycan share a symbiotic connection. If that connection is neglected, the soul feels neglected and damaged, but when nourished, the bonded flames are at their best in strength, joy and control.

Here, Tristan Jannick bonded to Alpha Theo Sullivan, but Theo didn't reciprocate. It caused Tristan to suffer mental, emotional and physical anguish. After a trial, Tristan was allowed to sever the one way bond. He also went in a self imposed Exile with his best friend Ushna Ahura Yazda as company.

When an event caused Ushna to lose control of his wolf and go Lupe, Tristan was able to soothe the Lupe until Ushna regain control. That event created a cascade of events which revealed the truth about Tristan's past and changed the course of his future.

The story was a good beginning to a interesting series where gods played a role in the love matches and love meddling of two lives unlocking the two flames potential and each serving as an anchor for the other.
This is my first story by the author and I was completely engaged. The patience, friendship and loyalty between Tristan and Ushna was endearing. I loved the twist to Tristan's past and I look forward to seeing how he will embrace his destiny. This one will be a treat for UF & Fantasy lovers who enjoy mythology
