This was the couple I was the most excited about (what can I say, I'm a sucker for neighbourhs + childhood best friends to lovers), but as it is a Boys of Tommen book, there was no happiness. Chloe Walsh is very good at writing trauma, and writing hurt characters so I adored the portrayal of Gibsie's inner monologue. Because the hard parts of the story focus more on Gerard I feel like Claire is a bit underdeveloped, most of her story centers around Gibsie and Lizzie, but still, I like that she found her voice and is showing her loyalty.
Speaking of Lizzie, I have to say, she has been shitty, yes, but I feel like her trauma justifies it a little bit. I'm so desperate to read her POV, honestly seeing how the book ends I just need the next one on my hands. And Hugh, who I wasn't very interested before (just as an annex and because I love a good love triangle).
The rest of the gang is great as always, and I loved learning more about Feely, he really is a good lad, probably might be the best adjusted of all of them. I love him.
In summary, I loved the book and couldn't put it down, as always.
