What I love about this book is that Clary has agency. She makes her own, sometimes poor, decisions and doesn't wait around for others to make decisions for her. Yes, sometimes she's impulsive and could do to listen to other people's opinions before she decides to do something, but that flaw adds to her appeal as a protagonist to me. No one is perfect, and I think that should be portrayed more often.

This book had me hooked - I could not put it down! The plot was interesting and the character moments were well woven into it. Nothing seemed extraneous to me and it all meshed well.

On a side note, Chairman Meow might be the best name for a cat ever.
