Fruits Basket, Vol. 1 by Natsuki Takaya

It's cute, it's funny, it's well-drawn and has a cool story. It lacks the depth of a more intelligent manga because it doesn't step outside the traditional Shojo territory. I think this is a shame, because I think that would have been REALLY interesting. However, the purpose of the manga is to be a lighthearted read and it does this beautifully.
