The Secret by Elizabeth Hunter

3.0

The storyline was entertaining. It hooked me. I loved getting to see the plot unfold in very interesting ways. Of course we find out Eva's true origins, yeah!

Overall I really enjoyed this one and the two before. The series (especially Book 3) I didn't think fit cleanly into the romance category. Its definitely paranormal, but the romance is stretching it for this book. The plot that carries this series (IMO) is the whole intrigues among the Fallen and Eva's origins (and not the romance between Eva and Malachi). Book 1and 2 fit more cleanly into the paranormal romance genre. I can't say the same for Book 3.

The love/sex scenes felt rather forced; it had nothing to do with the story. So after a while I was like, "ok enough', get back to the story. It was a bit annoying having the story interrupted for some impromptu sex. It felt after awhile that the sex scenes in Bk 3 were solely an effort to satisfy the "romance" genre.

Bk 3 focuses on discovering the plots set in motion by the Fallen, Eva's origins and how it ties in with what is going on with the Fallen. Definitely lots of intrigue, which I really like in stories.
