I read the first two books in this series then took a break partly because this story looked like it would make me sad. I even started the first few pages once then stopped. However, I am so glad that I finally did read it. Ms. Bennett is a wonderful writer and story teller. I couldn't put the book down. Zack and his guilt and pain; Kate and her rational thought and caring soul... were both believable and likable characters. I felt for both of them and hated when they both felt they had to make the decision they did. However, thank goodness for fiction and happy endings.
