Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese

This was such a witty and fun read. I liked it !

I loved both main characters but I didn’t like the parents much - her mom and his parents.

Her mom had no business talking to him like that to get him to talk. She’s a complete stranger and even with her military medical background and even if she wanted to ‘fix’ him because she was leaving her daughter with him. His choice and his fight.

His mother was harsh and loving at the same time I felt like the author didn’t know how she wanted to paint his mother and just freestyled each chapter with her in it.

The story was going great at first but when it got tangled up with her mom knowing his dad it got weird and complex it’s a detail that added 100 pages that the book could’ve easily done without but it ended up okay.

She was mad about him knowing about her mom without telling her but what about her mom knowing and not telling her ?

As we go deeper in the book we see their teacher definitely acting like a child in middle school and not the guy we read about in the beginning who was a hardass who took his class very seriously.

Also the book is not the mood for the sex talk that happened in the last chapters. The allusions to the spanking in the texts was okay but the author pushed it too much by making the characters talk about it in the end. Something we could’ve definitely gone without. (I AM NOT KINK SHAMING THEM! It’s just not going with the vibz of the book)

The present tense annoyed me at first but I quickly adjusted and didn’t even feel something was wrong after the first couple chapters.
