It's difficult to like a book when you don't like the main character. I think most people will love this book because the story is interesting and unique, I've definitely never read a book quite like it before. The 7 or 8 deaths are mostly just used to structure the story and are slipped in to build a timeline more than anything. I found the writing to be very stiff and unemotional. And the last chapter was annoying and lazy, with the author just listing out what happened to each family member in the end. I like books to make me feel something and this was 440 pages of banal statements.
