The Deal of a Lifetime by Fredrik Backman

2.0

I haven´t read the full-size novels by this author, because they are so popular in my library, that you need to be a friend of staff to actually borrow one. So when I saw two novellas by F.B. I just grabbed them and run!
The first novella "And every morning the way home gets longer and longer" didn´t win my heart.
Neither this one. I feel like this is another author who is trying to sell an emotional sob story (just like Paulo Coelho, Matt Haig, Jodi Picoult)). The content is not important, not really. You can also forget about literary or artistic values. These authors are using a cheap but working well mechanism - shake your reader with basic emotions and they will love you, which turns into a nice profit.
Two stars, because the writing is ok.
