My first real experience reading a horror book. While I hated the experience (because I am a coward), the book is utterly masterful in its writing. The characters are so compelling and it's written with such a brutally honest view of human psychology, I couldn't stop reading even though I was terrified. Very very different from the movie, as all good books are!
