Read it in German for class. At first its typical post-war years, as we learn about a complicated relationship with a large age-gap. Seeing the relationship and characters develop after such a long time was very interesting. You come to appreciate them and the relatinship they had, even if it had nothing you would really expect of a relationship. It was out of the box and was a steady read.
