Same plot, almost point-by-point, as The Perfect Child, except the murderspawn child is born, not adopted in The Push. I think The Push is also more of an emotionally-wrenching gut punch, where Perfect Child is more of a "wtf?!" roller coaster wild ride.
More important - just once, I would like one of these Bad-Seed-type books to include a supportive husband or partner who isn't completely blind and willfully ignorant ... just once, when the uncertain wife says, "Um ... honey, I think something's wrong..." the supportive, perceptive husband says, "Now that you mention it ... " instead of, "Hur dur it's just your imagination you silly woman, everything would be fine if you'd just try harder."
