On Anne Bogel’s 2025 Summer Reading List.
This book is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. There is SO much loss throughout these pages and yet the amount of hope and love that fills those same pages is undeniable. It used to be so hard to imagine a time when people in Hollywood would be blacklisted for things that might not have even been true…and yet watching what is happening in the world around us I can see how it might not be that far off from our current reality. That makes this book even more heartbreaking but also so important and relevant.
This book was so well written from various points of view and points in time so that it was never confusing, flowed beautifully and you always felt like you learned exactly what you needed to when you needed to. Highly recommend.
It is definitely a heavy book with lots of trigger warning topics but all handled masterfully.
