I get excited with new concepts and ideas that I think I can implement to level up my life. And this book has those ideas and lays them out pretty clearly. I think for me, what has been a game-changer is no longer believing the thought "I'm not a morning person" and being able to become more of a morning person. In the past, if I didn't have to wake up for work or a meeting, I would be up at 10am, no matter what day it was. Now, no matter what day it is or no matter how many hours I've slept, I automatically wake up between 7-8am and I'm moving more towards 7am on a regular basis. And I LOVE it.
I already have a 90-minute morning routine that I like and this Miracle Morning routine will help me love it even more. Three years ago, if someone had told me that I'd be a morning person and up before 8am every day, I wouldn't have believed them. And that is a limiting belief. It was just a thought that I'd accepted that wasn't contributing helpfully to my life. And guess what? I just changed the thought and practiced it enough that I now have a new belief: I AM a morning person--or even, I am a person who likes to get the most out of her day (life) by waking up by 7am no matter what day of the week it is. Maybe I'll start waking up by 6:30am next.
“And, as a result of choosing to be genuinely grateful for all that I had, unconditionally accepting of all that I didn’t, and accepting total responsibility for creating all that I wanted, this potentially devastating car accident ultimately became one of the best things that ever happened to me. Hinging on my belief that everything happens for a reason—but that it is our responsibility to choose the most empowering reasons for the challenges, events and circumstances of our lives—I used my accident to fuel a triumphant comeback.” pg. xxviii
“I believe it is crucial for us to embrace the perspective that anything another person has overcome or accomplished is simply evidence that anything—and I mean anything—we need to overcome or want to accomplish is possible for us, no matter what our past or current circumstances. It begins with accepting total responsibility for every aspect of your life and refusing to blame anyone else. The degree to which you accept responsibility for everything in your life is precisely the degree of personal power you have to change or create anything in your life.” pg. xxxiii
“Know that wherever you are in your life right now is both temporary, and exactly where you are supposed to be. You have arrived at this moment to learn what you must learn, so you can become the person you need to be to create the life you truly want. Even when life is difficult or challenging—especially when life is difficult and challenging—the present is always an opportunity for us to learn, grow, and become better than we’ve ever been before.” pg. xxxiv
“The good news is that you have the ability to change—or create—anything in your life, starting right now. I’m not saying you won’t have to work for it, but you can quickly and easily attract and create anything you want for your life by developing into the person who is capable of doing so. That’s what this book is about—helping you become the person you need to be to create everything you have ever wanted for your life. There are no limits.” pg. xxxiv
“Never forget that who you are becoming is the single most important determining factor in your quality of life, now and for your future.” pg. 7
“I realized this is the problem for all of us. We all want Level 10 success, in every area of our lives—health, happiness, finances, relationships, career, spirituality, you name it—but if our levels of personal development (knowledge, experience, mindset, beliefs, etc.) in any given area are not at Level 10, then life is always going to be a struggle.
Our outer world will always be a reflection of our inner world. Our level of success is always going to parallel our level of personal development.” pg. 13
“I decided in that moment that my life purpose for the next 12 months would be: to become the person I need to be to create the success, freedom, and quality of life that I truly want.” pg. 30
“We must realize that the real impact and consequence of each of our choices and actions—and even our thoughts—is monumental, because every single thought, choice, and action is determining who we are becoming, which will ultimately determine the quality of our lives. As T. Harv Eker said in his best-selling book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, ‘How you do anything is how you do everything.’” pg. 31
“Always remember that who you’re becoming is far more important than what you’re doing, and yet it is what you’re doing that is determining who you’re becoming.” pg. 32
“Remember this truth: now matters more than any other time in your life, because it’s what you are doing today that is determining who you’re becoming, and who you’re becoming will always determine the quality and direction of your life.” pg. 38
“So, the key is to consciously decide every night to actively and mindfully create a positive expectation for the next morning.” pg. 51
“Most of us live our lives on the wrong side of a huge gap in our potential, a gap which separates who we are from who we can become. We are often frustrated with ourselves, our lack of consistent motivation, effort and results in one or more areas of life. We spend too much time thinking about the actions we should be taking to create the results that we want, but then we don’t take those actions. We all know what we need to do; we just don’t consistently do what we know.” pg. 56
“Remember, when you change your inner world—your life—then your outer world—your life situation—will improve in parallel.” pg. 58
“You can use affirmations to start programming yourself to be confident and successful in everything you do, simply by repeatedly telling yourself who you want to be, what you want to accomplish and how you are going to accomplish it. With enough repetition, your sub-conscious mind will begin to believe what you tell it, act upon it, and eventually manifest it in your reality.” pg. 70
“Most people are limited by visions of their past, replaying previous failures and heartbreaks. Creative Visualization enables you to design the vision that will occupy your mind, ensuring that the greatest pull on you is your future—a compelling, exciting, and limitless future.” pg. 76
“The greatest gift we can give to the people we love is to live to our full potential. What does that look like for you? What do you really want? Forget about logic, limits, and being practical. If you could have anything you wanted, do anything you wanted, and be anything you wanted—what would you have? What would you do? What would you be?” pg. 78
“Visualizing your goals and dreams is believed by some experts to attract your visions into your life. Whether or not you believe in the law of attraction, there are practical applications for visualization. When you visualize what you want, you stir up emotions that lift your spirits and pull you towards your vision. The more vividly you see what you want, and the more intensely you allow yourself to experience now the feeling you will feel once you’ve achieved your goal, the more you make the possibility of achieving it feel real.” pg. 79
“The highest achievers—those who are balanced and focused on achieving Level 10 success in nearly every area of their lives—are exceedingly grateful for what they have, regularly acknowledge themselves for what they’ve accomplished, and are always at peace with where they are in their lives. It’s the dueling idea that I am doing the best that I can in this moment, and at the same time, I can and will do better. This balanced self-assessment prevents that feeling of lack—of not being, having, doing enough—while still allowing them to constantly strive to close their potential gap in each area.” pg. 93
“Everything is difficult before it’s easy. Every new experience is uncomfortable before it’s comfortable.” pg. 97
“You take one minute to write down some of the things that you’re grateful for, what you’re proud of, and the results you’re committed to creating for that day. In doing so, you create for yourself an empowered, inspired, and confident state of mind.” pg. 101
“Remember, the moment you accept total responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you claim the power to change anything in your life.” pg. 110
“One of my mentors, Dan Casetta, taught me: ‘The purpose of a goal isn’t to hit the goal. The real purpose is to develop yourself into the type of person who can achieve your goals, regardless of whether you hit that particular one or not. It is who you become by giving it everything you have until the last moment—regardless of your results—that benefits you the most.’” pg. 150
“. . . to achieve the seemingly impossible, I would have to establish and maintain unwavering faith, every day, regardless of my results.
As is true for most any major goal we pursue, I knew that there would be moments when I would doubt myself and times when I would likely be so far off track that the goal might no longer seem achievable. It would be in those moments when I would need to override my fear with faith.
To keep that level of faith in those challenging moments, I consistently repeated and lived by what I call my Miracle Mantra:
I am committed to maintaining unwavering faith that I will reach my goal and putting forth extraordinary effort until I do, no matter what. There is no other option.” pg. 151
“That is the first decision that limitless individuals make—to live with a mindset of unwavering faith, and it’s yours for the making, too.
When you’re working toward a goal, and you’re not on track, what is the first thing that goes out the window? The faith that the outcome you want is possible. This usually causes our self-talk to turn negative and self-limiting: I’m not on track. It doesn’t look like I’m going to reach my goal. Oh well, I guess it wasn’t meant to be. And with each passing moment, your faith in yourself and what’s possible wavers.
You don’t have to settle for that. You have the ability and the choice to maintain that same unwavering faith that the world’s most effective people maintain, regardless of your results. In the darkest moments, it’s normal to question yourself and wonder if everything is going to turn out okay, which is why you must make the conscious decision—over and over again—to reinforce your faith that you can overcome, accomplish, and create anything that you’re committed to.” pg. 152-153
