It was an easy, pleasant read.

I couldn't quite suspend my disbelief of how easily the heroine gave herself up to intimacy (and in such risky public places, of all things!) but I really liked Genevieve's personality and the author's take on her character.

The writing style was mostly good, although very verbose, the prose almost taking on purplish hues. Then again, I'm not a huge HR reader so maybe that kind of writing is normal, who knows. I wasn't bothered too much, but the fact that I noticed it (when I usually don't) is a big tell.

But aside from that take it for what it is: a pleasant, easy-going romance about two people who consider themselves too clever and too pragmatic to actually fall in love. Been there, done that.

Personal highlight was Genevieve's "still waters run deep" personality and the clash of her true self with everyone's impression of her being quiet, kind and bland. Again, been there, done that.

Overall, highly recommend for fans of the genre.
