Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen

4.0

[insert Lucille Bluth's "good for her" clip here]

All jokes aside, Kirsten Chen's Counterfeit is a ride from cover to cover. On the surface, Counterfeit is about two women, Ava and Winnie, who start a counterfeit handbag scheme. Yet, as the story unravels, it becomes about so much more—society's obsession with wealth, success, luxury goods, and the lengths one might go to conform to social expectations of status.
