The Soul of Science: Christian Faith and Natural Philosophy by Nancy Pearcey, Charles Thaxton

informative reflective slow-paced

4.5

I always enjoy Nancy Pearcey’s books, but I don’t get through them very quickly because they’re so long and full of info. This book was a great blend between science and history. I’m a huge fan of apologetics books based on facts. The way science and philosophy are intertwined and impact each other wasn't entirely new to me but this was a more in-depth examination of their relationship than I had read before. A passage I found particularly interesting is the one about the philosophy behind evolution, where the push to popularise and prove macroevolution came from philosophers who liked the ramifications (instead of the other way round, where evolution was proven and then changed people’s view of the world). The different theories of mathematics were cool to learn about as well.
