 I liked this book, overall.
I liked some of the subtle subversion going on with the divinatory gethenians (Faxe), and the gender roles, more on that later.
The prose is quite nice, that said, i read a translation, had some amazing snippets, i regret not recording them, but maybe on some later re-read, or i'll look for them online afterwards, im sure ill find them.

The world building is good, also, altho not that divergent from human societies and such, but the premise of constant androgeny has been explored somewhat.

The pacing is, kind of slow?Or maybe that was just me.
Thematically this was above average for me, i was always a gender abolitionist and I already thought about much of the implications of a gender-less society.
Still very interesting though, as alien as the gethenians were, there is always the custom politicking and the narcissism, and the tribalism, and the universal humanoid experience, i suppose.

After all, they are some kind of
Genetic experiment?

Damn, it's cold out there, I wonder what a slightly more advanced society with do on such a planet, adaptation-wise.
