I LOVE the enemies-to-lovers trope, but I always dread them in the beginning... Imo it only works well if the author writes it well, if not, the chemistry between the characters end up being SUPER CRINGE. 😬

HOWEVER, MS. PEARSON πŸ‘ DELIVERED πŸ‘. I'm obsessed with Jase and Kazi, and the waaayyy they long for each otherπŸ₯ΊπŸ€§β€οΈ. The whole story in general was so good, especially the family backgrounds of the characters and how they relate to each other ❀️. My only regret about this book is that it took me FOREVER to finish bcz I was so busy, and so I kept forgetting plot points so I had to keep going back a little to refresh my memory 😩.

If you haven't read The Kiss of Deception (Remnant Chronicles trilogy), go and read that before you get to this! Because it turns out, the Remnant Chronicles takes place 6yrs before DoT AND WHATS EVEN BETTER: some minor characters in Remnant end up playing side characters here!!! If you plan to read Remnant after this though ... Umm you already know some major spoilers at this point πŸ˜….

Ok this is completely random, but for the entirety of the first chapter I thought Kazi was the male character. And then I flipped to the next chapter and I was like WAIT. I GOT MY CHARACTERS SWICHED 🀣. Therefore, I spent a good portion of the book trying to remember that πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚
