This book is pure entertainment. If I had a child, I would definitely read it together.
The book is interesting, funny (I cannot count the times I chuckled or even laughed!) and intriguing. There was even a plot twist I did not see coming (albeit I blame myself for not seeing it).
All in all, it is a fun book - and I did not read any Percy Jackson books before, so even for a person who did not know the world is fairly simple to get right into it.
I also found the reference to the Greek gods wuite accurate - yet, the thing I had a hard time to digest was the villains. Why are those guys the bad guys? They really contributed to the culture and the world as we know it - yet the Beast is the only one I agree falls into the villains category.
All in all, a 24 hour book read to keep you entertained if you have some time to be occupied, if you are traveling or if you want to read something with your kids and/or nephews and nieces!
