The Forbidden Wish
by Jessica Khoury
To say the least, I enjoyed this book.
Not only are you presented with a beautiful world right at the beginning, but you're also gifted with an absolutely lovely writing style to accompany such a world. And unlike a few of the books I've previously read, the characters are not sacrificed for the sake of putting more into the world.
The only real flaw I saw within the narrative was the romance itself. It wasn't as if I didn't enjoy because I definitely did it was more than I found it a tad unbelievable that such a romance would spawn in the first place. But really it isn't that difficult to look past that small detail and still enjoy the story.
I went in with mostly neutral feelings after being captured by such a beautiful cover and description and after finding it finished in one sitting I found myself more than pleasantly surprised.
