Hopped into this hoping to get deep down into a woman's vow of silence and the drive behind it ... instead I wound up with endless page long paragraphs, a lot of run-on sentences bordering on lists, and a rather anticlimactic ending.
The only part that I truly enjoyed was Mara's thoughts during her gardening experience before the story suddenly devolved into a revenge plot.
Even the splices of historical information were enjoyable at first but became hard to digest as the story itself got more and more distracting. This was certainly not a novel for me.
