Wildwood Dancing
by Juliet Marillier
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! This book was SO MUCH BETTER than I was expecting. Marillier is obviously the best, but her young adult series is probably my least favourite of all of her writing (Ravenfall, not this). So I went into this fairly trepidatious. And it turned out to be on par with her other books, full of lush description, rich and complex characters, and just the right amount of fairy mischief.
This is the story of a group of sisters who journey into Fairyland on every full moon. But when their father leaves them alone for the winter, their lives grow increasingly complicated and treacherous.
I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to read the sequel. I don't know how I missed reading this many years ago, I think I got it confused with another book and thought I had already read it. SO glad I figured out that I hadn't!!
