The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

4.0

A moving and thought-provoking account of battling cancer. An easy yet gripping read, I finished this book in one sitting. Whilst certain plot twists were predictable, this in no way detracts from the enjoyment of the story (after all, we are all faced by the ultimate elephant in the room; our own mortality). A self depreciating and often macabre humour balances the sadder scenes, and you soon find yourself rooting for Hazel and Gus.

Plenty here for the thinkers too; a quotable book which questions the purpose and fragility of life.
