Pictures of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff

4.0

Pictures of Hollis Woods was one of those books that reminds of curling up with a blanket on a cold winters day or reading outside basking in the summer sun. It fits well into the middle school coming of age trope, which is one that I always enjoy. The book has a unique format that I haven't really seen before in many other books, where it switches back and forth between what's happening currently, and an important moment in Hollis's past. I didn't really like that at first, but as the book progressed it didn't bother me. Overall, this was a well done book that left me with a good feeling.
