The Odyssey by Homer
3.0
I knew the story, of course, but mostly from old comics. Interestingly, the balance of the book is in the events after Odysseus' return, not in the cyclops, Scylla and Charybdis scenes that were (understandably) given much more attention in the visual storytelling. There is some gore, but much less and much less boringly than in the Iliad. And an important thing: It took the audiobook to realise that Cersei=Circe. 'Beautiful, wicked Circe, with her golden hair hanging round her false, fair face'.
