Oh the yearning. The yearning of Vuk Markovic for Ayana Kidane! He is definitely the King of Envy since Ayana is set to be wed to his best friend! Ironically though, this was a marriage of convenience. Although that's just half of the book, it was fun to read. To see the two of them turn from best friend's fiance and fiance's best man to actually seeing that they have indeed some intense connection. It's so hard to see them be loyal, especially Vuk since it's his best friend's fiance!
The latter half of the book for me was the downfall. I did love the fact that they tackled how he is not the man she thought he was and there's some darker version of him so you'll see her trying to actually think of having a relationship with a morally gray man. Although it makes sense because he is indeed part of a sketchy association. It's just so unrealistic that in the end, it was a cat who saved them (lol).
