Something Blue by Emily Giffin
3.0

It's that time of the season where I have a bit of free time to read and catch up with novels. This is one of them.

After reading and watching the movie, "Something Borrowed", I was curious enough to try reading it's sequel. However, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't going to focus on Rachel and her aftermath with Dex. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised the main character was going to be Darcy. I knew it was definitely going to be a redemption story but inside, I still intensely disliked Darcy for what she has done in the previous book. Still, my curiosity outweighed how I was feeling and I took the leap of faith to read the events that would unfold after Darcy and Rachel broke off their friendship.

The first few hundred pages, we get to really dig deep in Darcy's perspective and why she did the things she had done to Rachel and those around her. I wasn't a fan of that because I already disliked her but the author's writing had slowly convinced me otherwise, especially with the reintroduction of Ethan through Darcy's eyes. Soon enough, I was turning page by page wanting to find out how things would unfold between the two of them in London. I knew it was going to be predictable with how they will end up but I won't lie: by the end, I was rooting for Darcy to be with him.

All and all, this book was an easy read and it helped expand more of the Something Borrowed universe. I hope to read more of the author's work and if there is more of the same characters in another novel. I would give it a higher score but the plot, as I mentioned before, was very predictable by the end. It still gave a heartfelt feeling, especially with the relationships between several characters.
