Hour of the Witch by Chris Bohjalian
5.0
The sinister, female-driven thriller I've been looking for - My favorite author respects and showcases the sharpness of a woman's mind and doesn't shy away from calling out the pompous and petty abuses wielded against them by small-minded, fearful men.
The truth is that sometimes even a good woman must behave badly when she belongs to a man with the Devil inside him. But in The Hour of the Witch, specifically who is good and who "dances with the Devil in the woods" is not as obvious as it seems in puritanical communities where even an only *suspected* witch can be hung.
