I have fallen off keeping up with my book club reads so even though I wouldn't normally choose to read this book, I did motivate myself to read it through. The artwork and fantasy as a genre doesn't appeal to my personal tastes, but I think it's good to be able to read things outside of my comfort zone from time-to-time, especially since I can imagine there are a lot of kids who might enjoy this book after reading about it online and how it can be good for D&D fans, of which there are many. I did enjoy the ending (no spoiler) since I think that it allows the goblin's true nature to shine and in line with values that I happen to share. I also like how this really is a journey of self-discovery in the end. I can see how this is a solid work even if it's not of my personal wheelhouse.
