I don't know why I'm so star-stingy with this series, because I really like the characters/relationships. The series tarot not being much of anything like actual tarot is certainly part of my withholding. This is a novella wherein there is chaos/found family/banter to be enjoyed. I made the mistake of reading it after THE HOURGLASS THRONE; you should read it before book 3.
