Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst
by Robert M. Sapolsky
Books like Behave by Robert Sapolsky are the reason I love non-fiction (OK. To be fair, I actually love all genres for different reasons :-).) These intellectual reads gets the brain working with evidence based information that you can soak up and think about on a deeper level. This book is HUGE in its scope and dense in its content. While not out of reach, a basic understanding or interest in science would certainly assist in the reading experience. Sapolsky has taken potentially complex data and translated it into a palatable book.... for the most part. There were times were I did feel like I was reading a textbook with the about of info dumping (mostly research articles) it contained. Nevertheless, it did flow well and I found it so intersting. I absolutely wanted to keep turning the pages.
