Read if you can tolerate mediocre fanfiction just so you can get 4 spicy scenes

I had high hopes for this book because of the rave reviews on BookTok. And it was okay, but that's it—just okay. The book itself was terribly edited, and the writing is mediocre at best. There's very little plot, and the characters are the least diverse of the 44 books I've read this year. And my goodness, the "twist" was so predictable that it was downright painful how long it took the MFC to figure out.

The only slightly redeeming aspect is the spice. Those scenes are fun, but even then, they definitely leaned way into toxicity, way too fast. Honestly, a few of the scenes were borderline assault, even with consent (albeit a weak sense of consent).
