The Last Bear by Hannah Gold
5.0
My thoughts: You are never too old for a beautiful tale, and The Last Bear is absolutely no exception to this. Not only is it an empowering story which conveys real life issues such as mental health, single parenthood and isolation, it also is a powerful message for our planet & the need to change our ways to protect habitats and animals alive.
April was an absolute sweetheart and an easily loveable main character. She was years above her age, adventurous, brave and also incredibly caring - theres not many people who could go up against a polar bear and live to tell the tale - so for now we can enjoy Aprils.
The illustrations in this book also deserve a special mention. Levi is incredibly talented and really brought the story to life
