The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
4.5
challenging dark reflective medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Expertly but effortlessly written. At times, it was the kind of prose I aspire to: with unexpected illustrations but always in control.
It’s easier to say that elements of the book have not aged well but that would imply that the racism in this was ever okay. And the racism isn’t like, a character choice; Ive read Plath’s poetry.
