eagillette 's review for:
Get a Life, Chloe Brown
by Talia Hibbert
I really enjoyed the real-life depiction of life with a chronic illness. This is the first time I've seen the Spoon theory (https://www.scarymommy.com/spoon-theory-chronic-illness/) used in fiction, which made me so very happy. As someone who suffers from a chronic illness, too often characters are portrayed as martyrs or faking it. Chloe had struggles and trust issues but her sweetness and smarts came through even when she was battling severe pain. I like that Red wasn't trying to cure her but was just there to support her. While this book may be too open door for some (it was a little too open for me), I loved the characters and hope to read more from Talia Hibbert in the future.
