This was a really great start to this series, I had a lot of fun with it! A very interesting fantasy concept with a group of characters that I thoroughly enjoyed. No one is glaringly irritating yet which, frankly, is a blessing coming out of my last fantasy read with multiple obnoxious characters. I was really torn between the two boys in Lysta's life, it's a difficult choice, and the last few chapters were action-packed and sad and full of betrayal and GAH, it was so good! So glad to find a fantasy book free of swearing and sex as well. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series!
