I couldn’t decide if I rather wanted to hug or throttle Rin the entire. Halfway through the book I guessed what the ending would be, but everything was constantly flowing full of heartbreak, betrayal, and just the hope of something would go right. Rin is in a constant cycle of abuse and manipulation, and I know people will complain that she doesn’t learn or why doesn’t she leave, but this cycle is not just her life, it’s been constant since her ancestors time, and it’s hard to break a cycle when you’re the only one alive and nobody believes you should exist.
More and more lies and truths keep emerging. The story really highlights how everything is not black and white. The grays in between really challenge people with their choices, perception, and humanity.
