A Scot in the Dark by Sarah MacLean

emotional lighthearted medium-paced

2.75

This was not a great example of this genre. The set up was clunky, the back storys were boring, and I did not believe the characters feelings for each other. Their motivations made no sense, and neither did the resolution. The caricature of Scotland was very cringe. He wanted to see the spray of the Firth of Forth in her face for gods sake.

I am finding MacLeans books more miss than hit at the moment, and this was an excellent example of how not to write a historical romance.
