Just Above My Head by James Baldwin
3.0

This is the culminating work in my Year of Baldwin, so, appropriate that it was his last novel. This was...a lot. It seemed like a mash-up, a greatest hits, of his previous novels and essays with a dash of autobiographical content thrown in. It covered a lot of ground, shifted narration a few times, and spun through a dizzying array of topics. All that aside, no one writes like Baldwin, and his words stay with you.
