The Unexpected Everything
by Morgan Matson
This was my first book of Morgan Matson’s and let’s just say... I definitely plan on reading more! This book was so reminiscent of high school and summer time, it really transported me back.
The plot was super fun and witty and the characters were all so relatable and flawed in their own ways, yet very likeable and made you feel for them every step of the way.
I really enjoyed the character growth and transformation in Andie, Bri, Toby and Andie’s dad, Alexander.
It was a heartfelt story that stressed the importance and strength of friendship and loyalty and that showed that people can truly change if they set their mind to it.
Clark and Andie’s love story was so quirky and cute and I found myself devouring the pages of this book to find out more about their relationship and how far it could go. I loved that Clark was a writer and that Andie had opposite interests, but that they just worked together. I also loved that their first date was super awkward but that they were thrown together again, as if fate wanted them to be a couple and gave them a second chance.
Overall, this book was fun, funny, whimsical, exciting, easy to read, and nostalgic. I would highly recommend for YA fans, romance fans, and those who love a story with strong female friendships.
