Dark Places
by Gillian Flynn
Ugh, every book I read by Gillian Flynn, I fall in love with. I've read all of her books now, and I think this might be my favorite. It was just so dark and icky in places but so masterfully crafted. It was impossible to put down. I felt so so bad for Ben, honestly. The poor kid did not have a great life but didn't make it any easier on himself. I cannot say enough good things about this book, honestly. I empathized so much with Libby and her spiraling depression. Her behavior was so realistic and challenging to read but understandable simultaneously. I felt terrible for Patty and had a feeling she was going to do what she did. Just like I had a feeling about Diondra, that absolute nasty bitch. Pick up your dog shit. I expected Trey to have something to do with the murders, especially after that cow scene. I'm shocked that he didn't. This is a must-read in my book, but it is VERY dark and visceral. It is not for the faint of heart.
