Loveable characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I was not really enjoying the start of this because it was really slow, but the middle and the end part were so good. I was hooked. I could not put this book down, and when say that, I mean that. When I was reading the end, I had to go pee… I kept reading.

Maisie was such a nice character to read about. I was a little bit surprised that it was only her point of view, as the second book had dual point of view. However, I do think the story was really great anyway. I like that Maisie was a little bit wild and not that gracious. She was chaotic and she did not really listen to anyone. In some ways she was childish, but it was not an annoying thing, but rather an endearing aspect of her personality.

I did really like the complexity of Dorian’s character. I think that maybe we didn’t get his point of view because he has a secret. (What actually happened when he killed the fae). I liked that the kill was not totally disregarded, and so was a part of who he was after it was revealed.

I was very invested in the final scenes where Maisie is supposed to die, and then Dorian dies. I was in distress. Like I knew it couldn’t end badly, but I was still at the edge of my seat. I also liked that the mother was not completely evil and that she and Maisie could potentially get a better relationship in the future.

My favourite character in this book was Podaxis. He was such a good friend. He was ready to give up his life and live with Nimue for Maisie. Even though the love story between him and Nadia was a small part of the story, is still made me emotional. When he finally took on his human form, despite his fear, I was screaming in excitement.
