The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson

5.0

4.5 but I'll round up.

This book was a beautiful example of world building in that it introduced the reader to one central world and several variations as part of the multiverse. What makes this more impressive is that it is established in (and for) and single book.

The plot moves quickly as we follow Caramenta, a traverser, as she deals with her job of visiting other worlds while managing some sketchiness on her home planet. The people she meets along the way are well-defined. They are not complicated creatures, but they don't really need to be for this story.

My biggest negative is that the story resolves in an acceptable but kind of anti-climactic way. It was building to a point where I was thinking "heck yeah, we're gonna get some good old-fashioned JUSTICE", but it fizzled.

Overall, this book was a nice light sci-fi. Would read more from this author.
